Puppets Up! 2022
Pre-Festival Event
Sherlock Holmes & The Hound of the Basketballs
Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Basketballs is a funny, irreverent, and at times bawdy puppetry take-off of the most famous and widely read of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories, Hound of the Baskervilles. Written by the witty and talented Allan Martin, the fast-paced, 90-minute show is chock full of laugh-out-loud local and regional references that will delight audiences. Nine highly experienced puppeteers, directed by Joey Graff, will play a total of twenty-five separate roles in four individual shows.
Evening performances are scheduled for 7:30pm on May 12, 13 and 14, with a matinée at 2pm on Sunday, May 15; all are taking place at the Almonte Old Town Hall. The show’s beautiful handcrafted puppets have all been designed and fabricated by beloved master puppeteer Noreen Young. The show has been costumed by renowned designer Ingrid Hamster.
This show contains adult content. It is appropriate for mature audiences, not children.
Early bird tickets are $25 until April 24, after that late birds pay $30.
